How it all began…

Iling, a graduate of Columbia University (Barnard College) and of the Parsons Design School in New York and Taiwanese by birth, spent many years in New York City. However, it was upon her return to Taiwan when she embraced her passion for quality, therapeutic skincare. Why? Because she had a real need- she suffered from a bad case of adult acne well into her 30's.

Iling tried all of the top branded products available on the market at the time to try to clear up her condition. None of them worked. She visited dermatologists who prescribed antibiotics and topical products (that actually irritated her skin - like benzyl peroxide). Nothing worked. So, she took it upon herself to search the world for a range of non-medicated, therapeutic, multi-functional, skin care products.

Initially she started to import products from some of the world's leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons - to be used by the professional medical community in Taiwan. After some time though, Iling discovered that there was still a large group of women (who had both tolerant and intolerant skin types), where even these products didn't work. These women wanted something else. They wanted products that worked faster, were more effective, and designed for their specific skin concerns. Iling then decided to work closely with some of the world's leading research and development laboratories in Europe, USA and Japan and the BIOPEUTIC range was born!

Whilst the inspiration for these products' formulation occurs mostly in Taiwan, all of BIOPEUTIC products are still manufactured and packaged in one of the following locations: Japan; USA; Germany and France. The reason for this is that BIOPEUTIC has developed close relationships with high quality, suppliers who can assure that the product you receive has been manufactured to the highest international standards and using only the latest pharmaceutical-food grade ingredients.

Iling didn't and still doesn't, compromise on quality!

Cosmeceuticals have been described as being the marriage between Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Like cosmetics, cosmeceuticals are topically applied, but they also contain ingredients that influence the biological function of the skin i.e., ingredients that actually alter the skin and its underlying health. Cosmeceuticals improve appearance by delivering nutrients necessary for healthy skin.

Dermaceutical is also a contraction of two words: Dermatological and pharmaceutical. We use both terms to mean the same thing.
